Set up your freelance project record
You need a project outcome, a review path and a handoff checklist. The goal is a repeatable record, not more admin for its own sake.
1. Write the outcome
Describe what the client will have when the work is done.
Avoid a list of deliverables without a purpose.
2. Name the reviewer
Say who can approve and how many review rounds are included.
A committee review is not one round.
3. Prepare the handoff
List the files, access and notes the client needs.
Do this before the final week.
4. Close the loop
Archive the final files and record the decisions.
A clean archive reduces future questions.
A QUICK CHECK
Before you begin
- The brief has an outcome and constraints.
- The reviewer and review rounds are written down.
- The handoff checklist has owners.
- The archive location is known.
